Institute André Voisin
Understanding the importance and the need to publicize the work of André Voisin, Luiz Carlos Pinheiro Machado founded, in 1970, the André Voisin Institute – IAV – recognized as “public utility” by the State Government of Rio Grande do Sul. The IAV developed an intense work to disseminate the work of Voisin, through courses on Rational Grazing Voisin and events, such as the Pan American Meetings on Agroecological Management of Pastures (see section Recommended Bibliography). It was through IAV that the expression Pastoreio Racional Voisin – PRV – was created to enshrine the name of the brilliant creator of the Universal Laws of Rational Pastoring. The IAV has organized a total of 223 sustainable animal development (PRV) projects, covering more than 100,000 hectares in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Cuba, Spain, France, Italy, among others.
